Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has only been the starter in Tallahassee for nearly two full seasons, but that is all that Seminoles fans will be getting. Like a lot of people expected, Winston will be entering the 2015 NFL Draft once this year’s campaign is complete, according to a report from Jason La Canfora.

Prior to the season getting underway, Winston’s father had noted that there was a good chance that his son might be returning to college next season. However, recent events have made it pretty clear that Winston will be off to greener pastures.

Winston burst onto the scene as a redshirt freshman in 2013, leading the Seminoles to their first national title since the 1999 season and capturing the Heisman Trophy in the process. During the end of that campaign, Winston was first in the negative spotlight when allegations of sexual assault surfaced. After an investigation, it was announced that no charged would be brought against him.

Then this past spring, Winston was caught stealing crab legs from a local grocery store. He was suspended from the baseball team and was ordered to do community service.

Within the past few weeks, other incidents have arisen. Winston shouted a sexual obscenity on campus and was suspended for the entirety of the team’s win over Clemson, and just this past week, was investigated for whether or not he had received money for some autographs that surfaced online. Florida State issued a statement this week that no transgressions were found.

All of these piled together have led a lot of people to believe that his draft stock has taken a serious hit. Well, we will find out in a couple months just how much of a hit he could take.
