A basketball player in the Adriatic League made an amazingly difficult shot during a league game on Sunday in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Blaz Mahkovic may not be a household name in the basketball world, but dude is getting some serious YouTube love after hitting an amazing shot in an Adriatic League game on Sunday.
Mahkovic, who plays for Union Olimpija, recovered an air-balled 3-point attempt by a teammate and did a little somethin’ like this:
The crowd at Arena Stozice in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the home arena for Olympija, roared its approval and why wouldn’t they?
I mean, it’s not every day that you see someone knock down a one-hand, flying-out-of-bounds, oh-did-we-mention-I-was-behind-the-freaking-backboard, nothing-but-net special.
The shot gave Olimpija a 23-point lead over Partizan Belgrade en route to an 87-58 victory.
He finished with 19 points in 22 minutes and is averaging 11.5 points in four Adriatic League games this season.
The 24-year-old Mahkovic is a native of Kranj, Slovenia. The 6-foot-7 forward is in his first season with Olumpija after playing the last two seasons with Helios Suns Domzale in the Premier A Slovenian League.
Prior to that, he played four seasons with Skofja Loka in the Slovenian Second League and two seasons for Triglav Kranj, also in the Slovenian Second League.
