Kobe Bryant commented for the first time about a recent article criticizing him on Wednesday.

While many, such as former coach Phil Jackson, are outraged in defense of him, Kobe Bryant is not letting Henry Abbott’s latest article for ESPN bother him.

Bryant addressed the article that largely pins the Los Angeles Lakers’ recent struggles on him on Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"“It’s not the first one, it’s not going to be the last one,” Bryant said. “The one thing I’ve come to understand over the years is that you’ll have a bad story that comes out on a Monday and it seems like it’s the end of the world. It seems like everybody is taking shots at you.“But time goes by, and then you look back and it’s just a Monday. Right? Then have another great story that comes out maybe a month later or something like that and it’s a fantastic story. And then there’s a bad story that comes out a month after that.“It’s a cycle. And things are never as good or as bad as they seem at the moment in time. So you stay focused on the big picture. Things are never really as bleak as they seem at the time. I just kind of roll with it.”"

While Kobe is clearly taking the high road, one couldn’t blame if he were truly upset about Abbott’s piece. The ESPN.com article outlines how Bryant’s personality and playing style has resulted in past Lakers wanting to leave the team and free agents not wanting to sign with them.

Considering how much Bryant has done for the Lakers franchise, it can’t feel good for the five-time champion to read that.

Still, Bryant it letting the criticism roll off his back, which he probably should do with the season just around the corner.
