Texas A&M basketball added 4-star recruit Elijah Thomas Tuesday, adding to their surprisingly strong 2015 recruiting class.

The Texas A&M Aggies are building up quite the squad for the 2015 season so far. Tuesday, four-star recruit Elijah Thomas announced that he will play for Texas A&M, meaning the Aggies now have four of the top six recruits in the state of Texas on their 2015 team.

Thomas is the fourth 4-star recruit in the Aggie 2015 class, as he chose Texas A&M over other choices of LSU, Oklahoma State, SMU and Illinois. Thr 6’9 power forward has the chance to bring instant success to an Aggie team that is building in a hurry, something fourth year head coach Billy Kennedy just has two simple words for:

Thomas ranks #20 in the nation according to the Rivals.com 150 and is ranked as the best player in the state of Texas. Thomas is the ninth-ranked recruit in the forward position, the largest category for recruits and one of the most sought after positions.

Texas A&M basketball finished 18-16 last year and hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament since the 2010-2011 season when they went 24-9 but were eliminated in the first round. The last time they made the Sweet 16 was in the 2006-2007 season when they were 27-7 and were led by Acie Law IV, tying their best ever finish in the NCAA Tournament.

The Aggies are looking to build a new, fresh, young team and with four 4-star recruits so far, they may be a dangerous team coming out of the SEC conference in the next years to come.

Notable alumni from Texas A&M in the past decade includes NBA superstar DeAndre Jordan, Khris Middleton, Josh Carter and Acie Law IV. You may see Elijah Thomas and other top recruits added to that list in coming years.
