Cleveland Cavaliers Meet With Ray Allen’s Agent
By Josh Hill
Cleveland Cavaliers fans are hoping that Ray Allen comes to town this year, but so far nothing has happened. That could all change with the preseason ending though.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have earmarked a roster spot and salary space to allow for Ray Allen to be signed, but the team is still in the dark about whether he’s coming back this year or not.

So far, it appears that Allen will join the Cavaliers if he decides to come back to the NBA for a 19th season. That’s a giant ‘if’ too, as Allen has had plenty of time to think but has yet to arrive at a decision. That’s a decision he could make public soon though, as with the preseason winding down and training camps closing, Allen is running out of reasons to string teams along with his decision.
According to Sam Amico from FOX Sports Ohio, the Cavaliers met with Allen’s agent this week but still have no word on what the veteran is going to do.
Allen may just decide that enough is enough and hang it up. He’s had a Hall of Fame career in the NBA and has little reason to return. But the chance to go out on top and retire at the top of your profession is something that very few athletes get to do and that could be the motivation that Allen needs to return for one more year in the NBA.
