Boston Red Sox Won’t Hire Joe Maddon
By Josh Hill
The Boston Red Sox are year removed from winning the World Series, which is a reason why Joe Maddon will not be coming to Beantown in 2015.
When the Tampa Bay Rays lost manager Joe Maddon this week, the baseball world got into a tizzy about where he will land next. Maddon is largely regarded as one of the best managers in baseball, but not everyone is going to bend over backwards to try and hire him.

There is speculation that Maddon could land with anyone from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Chicago Cubs. One team that won’t be hiring Maddon are the Boston Red Sox.
According to Nick Cafardo from the Boston Globe, the Red Sox will not be canning John Farrell to hire the hottest manager on the market right now in Joe Maddon.
This makes perfect sense and was the general consensus as soon as Maddon became available. As nice as it would be to get one of the best managers in baseball, the Red Sox already have a fine skipper in John Farrell.
After all, he helped the Red Sox win the World Series just last season, as it hasn’t even been a calendar year since that happened. Firing Farrell would be an atrocious look for the Red Sox, and it’s not going to happen anytime soon.
