Martin Kaymer, Bernhard Langer Have Putter Long Drive Contest
German golfers Martin Kaymer and Gernhard Langer were asked to participate in a long drive contest using their putters, Kaymer won.
Mercedes-Benz had brand ambassadors, German golfers Martin Kaymer and Bernhard Langer perform a long drive contest where only one club could be used. That was the putter. The one club that is only used on the green and almost never off of it. The pair had it filmed and it was put on YouTube.
Regardless of how they came to take the challenge, Kaymer and Langer both passed it with flying colors, each taking three swings with their putter and improving their drives each time. Kaymer maxed out at 232 yards. Langer could only muster the strength to get it 208 yards.

Martin Kaymer, 29, is a European Tour and PGA Tour player out of Germany. He has won two PGA Tour majors including the PGA Championship in 2010 and the U.S. Open in 2014. He has three all-time PGA Tour wins and 11 European Tour victories propelling him to his current status as the No. 12 golfer in the entire world.
While Kaymer may be the reigning U.S. Open champ, Bernhard Langer who is nearly 30 years older than Kaymer at age 57 is the reigning Champions Tour champion. While he could only (only) hit is putter 208, the veteran German golfer has dominated the Champions Tour since turning 50. He won The Masters twice (1985,1993) and was No. 1 in the world for sometime in 1986. He’s won four senior tour majors including the 2010 Senior Open Championship, 2010 U.S. Senior Open, 2014 Constellation Senior Players Championship and the 2014 Senior Open Championship. Langer is second all-time in European Tour wins with 40.
We can only hope that you hit your driver further than 232 yards otherwise this must be very sad for you to read. Not that you’ll ever need it, but it may be good to get your putter-driving game on point in case Mercedes-Benz ever wants you to participate in this type of competition.
