Normally any team with a Gerald on it would be in great shape, but these Boston Celtics are one or two trades away from being one of the worst teams in the NBA. And even if Danny Ainge decides to hang on to both Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green, Boston will still have a hard time competing this season with so many young and unproven players.

Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley have the potential to be one of the most annoying defensive backcourts in the league, and Jared Sullinger looks primed to make “the leap” this season. Kelly Olynyk stepping out and knocking down some threes was fun to watch in preseason, but this team just doesn’t have enough offensive firepower to make good use of Rondo’s distributing skills. Oh and Rondo? He’s still not guaranteed to play in Wednesday’s season opener thanks to that broken hand.
. --. Previous: . Boston Celtics. 26. team. 18
