San Fransisco 49ers defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey returned to practice after being on the injured reserve for the first half of the season.

San Fransisco 49ers defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey returned to practice for first time since being place on injured reserve with the designation to return because of a biceps tear he suffered in the preseason.

Three months after getting hurt in training camp, the nose tackle practiced for the first time on Monday. Dorsey now has a 21-day window to participate in practice before the San Fransisco 49ers must either activate him to the 53-man roster or shut him down for the season.

“Conditioning was really good,” Harbaugh said in a release on the team’s website. “We’ll ramp it up more as the week goes on.”

Glenn Dorsey will be first eligible to play Nov. 9 when the San Fransisco 49ers play the New Orleans Saints.

Fellow nose tackle Ian Williams has played well while replacing Dorsey, recording 18 tackles and one sack in the first seven games of the year.

Glenn Dorsey was the fifth overall pick out of LSU in the 2008 draft by the Kansas City Chiefs before he found his way to the San Fransisco 49ers. Dorsey recently signed a two-year contract extension with the San Fransisco 49ers through the 2016 season on Aug. 16.

We’ll see if Dorsey is ready to play when he is first eligible and if the San Fransisco 49ers choose to keep him or cut him.
