The Washington Redskins are fresh off of a

victory against the Dallas Cowboys.

Colt McCoy

and injured Robert Griffin III. Now, the Redskins will be going back to their opening day starter as it seems he is all systems go.

According to multiple sources, there were some grumblings last week that Robert Griffin III would be a possible game time decision against the Cowboys. Likely just a smokescreen, the Texas boy, McCoy, got the start and the victory. Now recovered enough to return to the field RGIII will take on the Vikings on the road Sunday.

RGIII will be returning to the field for the first time since injuring his ankle way back in week 2. The injury was obviously serious and has had the Redskins quarterback position in flux since then.

The Vikings were likely game planning for RGIII to be under center, but now have mid-week confirmation of the news.

Minnesota took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend behind a solid two minute drive from rookie Teddy Bridgewater and a game winning fumble recovery by fellow rookie Anthony Barr.

Coming into the game on Sunday, RGIII should provide more looks for Pierre Garcon, who has gone relatively unused of late. However, Washington getting Griffin back in the lineup shouldn’t be seen as such a revelation. He has done little to show he can be reliable as a starting option, with many calling for Kirk Cousins just a year ago.

The Redskins and Vikings kick off on Sunday at 1pm ET from TCF Bank Stadium.
