After their thrilling 24-21 win last weekend over the USC Trojans, the realization began to set in that the Utah Utes are in prime position to capture the Pac-12 South title. However if they’re going to do that, they’re going to have to do it without the services of leading wide receiver, Dres Anderson.

On Wednesday it was announced that Anderson will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.

The worst news for Anderson, who caught three passes for 30 yards in the win over USC this past Saturday, is that the game against the Trojans was his seventh appearance of the season, meaning that the redshirt senior is not eligible for a medical hardship waiver from the NCAA, which would allow him to return next season.

Anderson has led all Utes receiver this year on their run to that 6-1 record with 22 passes caught for 355 yards and four touchdowns. For his career, Anderson will finish as the fifth-leading receiver in school history with 2,077 yards.

Utah, without Anderson, will take on Arizona State this Saturday night in the biggest Pac-12 South showdown of the season.
