The Michigan State Spartans have been playing extremely good football this season, and are currently the #8 ranked team in the nation with a 7-1 record. Junior quarterback Connor Cook has had an impressive year and has been receiving some NFL looks, but has made it clear that he wants to return to the Spartans next season and finish his senior year out.

From Rotoworld.com:

"“I was planning on it the whole time, even before this conversation. Who wants to leave college? College is fun… We are just taking it one week at a time as the season goes. The main goal is to use up all of my eligibility here at Michigan State.”"

Cook has played in all eight games for the Spartans this season, throwing for 1,868 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions. There is no question that he has the type of arm that NFL scouts are looking for, but he could still use some work before he’s ready to leave Michigan State. Finishing out this year and playing one more would be a very good decision.

At 6’4″ and 218 pounds, Cook has an NFL body and will be a very difficult player to bring down at the next level. He has shown the ability to extend plays and make plays out of nothing for his teammates.

Michigan State has to be happy to learn this news, and it will mean that they will contend once again next season. It will be very intriguing to see where the Spartans end up this year, and how Cook finishes out the season. No matter what happens, it appears that he will be returning to the Spartans next season and working on his skills before leaving for the NFL Draft.
