Unfortunately for those who enjoyed Marion’s verse, the start of his rap career might just also be the end of it.
The forward talked about his rapping to Rolling Stone:
"“Most of us can’t do it. I’m not a rapper, man. If it’s for a great cause, like this album, I’m all for it, but I’m not gonna embarrass myself. I know my limitations,” he says. “There aren’t many athletes that can rap; one who could was Shaq. I had a couple of his albums; he’s one of the few people who could pull it off. He’s multi-talented.”"
“I’m a Champion” will be included on Full Court Press, Volume 1, a benefit album that features many NBA players.
Iman Shumpert, Trevor Ariza, Stephen Jackson are among the other basketball players that will make an appearance on the album.
