NBA superstar Derrick Rose wants everyone to calm down about his ankle injury.

The entire NBA stopped breathing on Friday night. Chicago Bulls‘ franchise guard Derrick Rose went down with an injury (again). In a close contest against Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rose came down awkwardly on the foot  of a Cavs’ player and subsequently headed off to the locker room. You could almost feel the panic in the United Center.

Inhale, now exhale slowly everyone. The great news is that it appears to be nothing major and Rose has no concerns whatsoever regarding returning as early as the next game tonight versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. When asked how he feels, Rose stated:

"“Don’t worry, it’s just an ankle sprain,” Rose said to ESPN after the game."

And there you have it. Although, Rose can’t especially blame the fandom for having a mini-stroke every time he falls on the court. Especially if it involves him limping to the locker room immediately after. That gives immediate flashbacks of not only one, but, two devastating and season ending knee injuries that left this team scratching and clawing for every single win.

This was only to see their year end in the playoffs prematurely. The Chicago Bulls need Derrick Rose to remain as close to 100% as possible if they’re going to stay in the contending conversation. With Indiana Pacers‘ Paul George out from a horrific broken leg injury suffered in the Olympics, now is a great time for the Bulls to make a serious drive. Especially with their former League MVP with his hands at “ten and two”.
