Adam Scott wants to be paired with Rory McIlroy for the Australian Open after last year’s event.

In last year’s Australian Open, one of three Australian major golf tournaments, Adam Scott had a chance to win, which would be his third Australian major win after he had already won the Australian Masters and Australian PGA, but Rory McIlroy birdied the final hole and Scott bogeyed, giving McIlroy the win.

Now, Adam Scott is calling on Australian Open officials to pair him with the young Northern Irishman who spoiled his chances of completing the Australian Grand Slam, a feat that his only held by one other man, Robert Allenby, who did it in 2005.

Adam Scott is out for revenge for the Nov. 27-30 tournament, thirsty to become the most successful Australian Golfer of all-time. Scott is currently ranked second in the world, just behind the No. 1 ranked Rory McIlroy.

“It’s not often we have the No. 1 and the No. 2 world-ranked players in the same tournament in Australia,” Scott told Golf, By Tour Miss. “and it would be fun to do, and I would certainly enjoy that.”

Rory McIlroy won the title last year, which set the tone for his most successful PGA Tour season yet when he won three PGA Tour events in the summer of 2014 including two majors, The British Open Championship and the PGA Championship, winning the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational in between.

Adam Scott had a slow PGA Tour season, only winning one event, but he also had 10 Top-10’s in 17 starts. Look for the Australian Open to set the tone for his PGA Tour season.
