4. Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were hoping to come away with a win at home  over the Atlanta Falcons, but that simply wasn’t meant to be as they ended up losing 27-17. Rookie wide receiver Mike Evans did his best to keep his team in the game, but they simply weren’t able to make enough winning plays down the stretch to pull out a close win.

Evans caught seven passes for 125 yards and a touchdown on the afternoon, and was really the only bright spot that the Buccaneers had outside of Vincent Jackson and Josh McCown putting in a bit of work. At 6’5″ and 231 pounds, he is a nearly impossible cover for any normal sized defensive back. That being said, he has been coming into his own as an overall wide receiver with each game that he has played.

Tampa Bay has a very impressive target for their quarterbacks moving forward, and this was a game that he showed off every aspect of his potential. They will continue to give him experience and targets moving forward this season and he will continue improving with more playing time. There’s no question that Evans is a future star wide receiver.
