The Indiana Pacers have had a rough start to the NBA season and it’s unlikely to be mended by a Paul George return.

Everyone remembers the horrible compound fracture injury that benched Paul George indefinitely during the Las Vegas scrimmage in August that  and unfortunately it doesn’t seem he will be returning from it anytime soon.

According to reports from The Boston Globe, it’s very unlikely he will return.

"Vogel said it’s “very unlikely” George will play this season, although he has released video of himself shooting 3-pointers and he is walking without a limp."

That is not good for the team that has made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in back-to-back years. The Pacers 1-6 and are also missing C.J. Watson, George Hill, Roy Hibbert and Rodney Stuckey. Due to the injuries the Pacers are 24th in the league in scoring at 92.4 points per game. They were 23rd last year averaging 96.7 points per game, a four point difference. They are being outscored this year by an average of 3.5 points per game.

Teammate Roy Hibbert also had some things to say that might encourage some of the Pacer fans.

"“He’s been good. He’s been shooting, running in the pool, he’s coming along, and I’m very optimistic,” teammate Roy Hibbert said. “It’s great having him around. He’s working really hard. His upper body is a lot bigger. He’s almost looking like LeBron [James].”"

Lebron James, huh? Those are some pretty lofty expectations, but wouldn’t surprise much if he has gotten bigger seeing as he can only lift upper body right now.

The Pacers should get most of their injured guys back soon so the season is far from loss, especially only seven games in, but not getting George back could be a big hit.
