Pop star and singer Justin Bieber, who seems to be generally loathed by those who aren’t fans of his, showed up to the Pittsburgh Steelers bible study. Now he is being blamed for the Steelers stunning loss to the lowly New York Jets and fans claimed he jinxed them.

Star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who had thrown for 12 touchdowns in the previous two games combined, is defending Bieber’s participation in the bible study.

“That’s not a big deal at all,” Roethlisberger said in a radio appearance on 93.7 The Fan, via ESPN. “For instance, [former Steelers wide receiver] Plaxico Burress stopped by. Obviously he’s family, but people stop by all of the time and say, ‘Hi,’ and we’ve had other athletes, actors, celebrities, stuff like that stop by. It’s not a big deal at all…. [Bieber] is one of the more popular guys for good or for bad in the country, so they had a chance to say hello and they did.”

Bieber has garnered a lot of ill will in the sports world, for seemingly being disinterested when sitting courtside, to stepping on the Blackhawks logo and more. Just add this to the list in the anti-Bieber anthology.

What were the Steelers players doing, being so excited about hanging out with a teen pop star in the first place?
