The Los Angeles Angeles failed to make it to the World Series this year, and the overhaul of the roster may involve getting rid of a powerful closer in Huston Street somewhere down the line.
When the Los Angeles Angels were bounced in the postseason this year by the Kansas City Royals, there was a lot made about how the bullpen wasn’t able to do the job it was meant to do. Whether that was bad managing by Mike Scioscia or poor performance by the pitchers but things just didn’t work out.

The Angels even worked out a trade that landed them a top closer on the market in Huston Street but he may not be around to see the team try and make a World Series push beyond 2015.
According to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange Country Register, the Angels haven’t been talking to Huston Street but may begin some sort of negotiations soon.

The Angels gave up a decent amount to land Street in a trade and losing him isn’t something they may want to do. If a long term deal can’t get worse out, a trade could become an option this summer with his free agency pending months after that.
Street would be a top free agent if he left the Angels but he wouldn’t be able to do so until next year. Given how things bottomed out this past season, testing the market to find a real contender wouldn’t be that absurd of a thing for Street to do if the Angels struggle again.
