Tennessee Titans’ Chase Coffman Cheap Shots Ravens Assistant (Video)

Tennessee Titans tight end Chase Coffman was fined $30,000 by the NFL for a late hit last week against a Baltimore Ravens assistant on the sidelines.
Tight end Chase Coffman of the Tennessee Titans was fined $30,000 for an odd tackle of a Baltimore Ravens assistant on the sidelines last week:
Jay Glazer of FOX Sports also reported the fine amount, which doesn’t make a ton of sense if it’s a cheap hit on a defenseless assistant, as it appears to be; but making sense of the NFL’s disciplinary procedures is an exercise for the insane.
What’s really curious is apparently nobody has seen the footage until today:
Glazer seems positively giddy about his scoop, but why didn’t ANYBODY see or mention this last week, when it happened? NFL games are pretty well-covered; the only way we don’t see a play like this on TV is if the NFL doesn’t want us to see it.
I don’t know why Coffman decided to take out his frustrations on the assistant, but this is a weird situation that’s become weirder by how the league has handled it.
