New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick offered a typically dry answer to a predictable question in anticipation of the team’s game in Green Bay.

If you’re going to ask dry questions to Bill Belichick, you’re going to get dry answers. Of course, even if you ask great questions, you’re probably going to get cookie-cutter responses. That doesn’t make Belichick’s particular brand of evasive answering any less entertaining though. The latest evidence of such stems from an answer offered by the New England Patriots coach when asked about the team’s upcoming road game versus the Green Bay Packers.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports that when Bill Belichick was asked about similarities between Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and Patriots QB Tom Brady, Belichick dead panned, “They both wear number 12.”

Oh, Bill, just never change. We really hope he sat at home and rehearsed that answer because he’d clearly already game planned for the question. That would be classic Belichick.

Of course, predicting such a question isn’t science. This is the first time in their careers that Rodgers and Brady will start against each other, which is causing a stir of anticipation on Thanksgiving week.

Two of the game’s best quarterbacks dueling always makes for great television and even better reporting. At least until you give Bill Belichick the microphone. Then the story is whatever Belichick says it is in the simplest terms possible.
