"“We will continue to support Jon as he addresses some personal issues off the court,” Pecora said in a statement. “We wish him and his family all the best during this process and hope that everyone will respect their"
Severe had plenty of offers coming out of high school, including some from teams like Kansas State, West Virginia and Creighton but instead chose Fordham in hopes to lead them back to prominence.
After an impressive freshman year where he averaged more than 17 points per game, many thought he would do so. Instead he was suspended for the first game due to an unspecified team rule that he broke and only averaged 1.7 points off the bench this year in three games.
Severe left in the middle of practice Wednesday and didn’t return for Fridays practice either. There is no timetable for the return of the sophomore.
The Rams are now 1-4 and will have to try to get to their first winning season in eight years without on of their top players.
