Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze is reportedly mulling an offer to be the next head coach at Florida or remain at Ole Miss and receive a pay raise but the Gators deny any offer has been extended to the Rebels head coach

Hugh Freeze has risen through the ranks of the coaching industry from a former high school coach to one of the top coaches in the SEC after leading Ole Miss to a 9-3 record this year and a win over No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Mississippi State in last week’s Egg Bowl.

With a resume like that it would be easy to see a school like Florida have an interest in stealing him away from his native state of Mississippi and have him be atop the wish list to replace Will Muschamp in Gainesville.

A report from Steven Godfrey of SBNation has indicated Freeze is considering an offer from Florida that would pay him between $4.2 and $4.3 million annually, but a statement from Florida’s University Athletic Association says no offer has been made to Freeze or any other candidate.

“We will have no comment on the recent multiple reports,” the UAA statement responded Monday, “other than to say that we have made no job offers to anyone and reports claiming that are false.”

This coincided with what Freeze said after his Rebels knocked off Mississippi State for the second time in three years when he said he had not been in contact with any other university and is happy at Ole Miss.

Freeze is 24-14 in three seasons at Ole Miss.

Who do you think will be the next head coach of the Gators?
