According to reports, the Hornets are aggressively shopping shooting guard Gerald Henderson.

Since Zach Lowe of Grantland let the cat out the bag that the Charlotte Hornets were being aggressive in trade talks amidst their 4-14 start, several names have appeared in possible trade rumors.

The latest of a group that consists of every Hornet not named Kemba Walker or Al Jefferson? Shooting guard Gerald Henderson who Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports says is “very available”.

With Lance Stephenson in the picture as the undeniable starter, Gary Neal outplaying offensive expectations set for him coming into the season, and reports of the former lottery pick falling out of Steve Clifford’s rotation, this leaves Henderson as one of the players who the Hornets hope they can swap for help, mostly of the three-point shooting variety.

It won’t be easy for the Hornets to effortlessly dump Henderson in trade talks as Lowe reports Henderson’s player option for next season and shooting, or lack of,  are leaving teams weary.

"Henderson’s a tempting suggestion, but his $6 million player option for next season kills his trade value."

This season, Henderson is averaging 6.8 points per game (his lowest scoring output since his rookie season) on 42 percent shooting from the field and 27 percent from three.

With the shooting guard position being thin, there may be a few teams who could seek Henderson as a spark-plug off the bench, mainly a contender.

Once the December 15 mark passes and players who were signed in free agency become trade eligible, don’t be surprised if Henderson is moved.
