This is the last full week of the season, so I really needed to make up ground to ensure that this is not a totally lost season. At first glance, I’m not sure I did.

Ohio(-3.5) at Miami(OH): MISS! The half got me on the first pick of the week. That is not a good sign….
LSU(-3.5) at Texas A&M: HIT! This was more of a defensive struggle than I expected.
TCU(-6.5) at Texas: HIT! Texas is not the team they were last year, but this was still a huge road win for TCU.
Northern Illinois at Western Michigan(-7.5): MISS! Okay, maybe mama did raise a fool….
Nebraska at Iowa(EVEN): HIT! They made me sweat it. They came back from 17 down with 19 minutes left to win, and the coach still got fired. Tough crowd there in Lincoln….
Western Kentucky at Marshall(-23.5): HIT! This was easy money. Now at least we don’t have to listen to people say Marshall deserved to be in the playoff.
Central Florida(-11.5) at South Florida: HIT! If you would have told me the Knights would only score 16 and still cover, I wouldn’t have believed you.
Houston(-21.5) at SMU: HIT! SMU didn’t so itself any favors by firing June Jones early on. This team got even worse.
Toledo(-22.5) at Eastern Michigan: MISS! I knew better….
Ball State at Bowling Green(-9.5): MISS! It was a bad day to be a home team on Friday.
Buffalo(-2.5) at Massachusetts: HIT! The Minutemen are the worst team in the MAC without Frohnapfel.
Akron(-3.5) at Kent State: MISS! My 1977 quarter failed me for the first time this season! Also not a good sign.
Arkansas(-3.5) at Missouri: MISS! Where was this team at home the rest of the year?
Navy(-9.5) at South Alabama: HIT! The home teams did better later in the day.
Arizona State at Arizona(-2.5): HIT! This was everything a Territory Cup game should be.
Stanford at UCLA(-4.5): MISS! The choking Bruins were back in business for this one.
Colorado State(-6.5) at Air Force: MISS! Marshall and Colorado State both squandered a chance at a New Year’s Six bowl. It is now Boise’s to lose.
Virginia at Virginia Tech(EVEN): MISS! How did the Hokies score 24? Without overtime, no less?
East Carolina(-17.5) at Tulsa: HIT! The half went my way, but I really had to sweat this one. It was never close.
Cincinnati(-6.5) at Temple: HIT! The Temple defense played well, but so did Cincinnati’s.
South Carolina at Clemson(-6.5): HIT! Are the Gamecocks embarrassed enough to can Spurrier?
Georgia Tech at Georgia(-13.5): HIT! I didn’t expect a GT win, but I figured they would make it tough.
Kentucky at Louisville(-13.5): MISS! With the way the Wildcats stumbled into this game, I thought it might be a blowout. They did a great job sticking around.
West Virginia(-13.5) at Iowa State: HIT! Another half goes my way, and more luck for me. This game wasn’t close either.
North Texas at UTSA(-4.5): HIT! The Roadrunners can be happy with their season, but they lose a lot going into next year.
Old Dominion at Florida Atlantic(-3.5): MISS! That will teach me to change it up….
Rice at Louisiana Tech(-7.5): MISS! It was the Rice defense, not the half, that I shouldn’t have liked.
Illinois at Northwestern(-8.5): HIT! The Wildcats just don’t have the offense this year to keep up with teams.
Purdue at Indiana(-2.5): HIT! More easy money, and two for two on locks so far!
Michigan at Ohio State(-20.5): HIT! The Buckeyes weren’t going to cover this even with Barrett, so I don’t want to hear it!
Syracuse at Boston College(-11.5): HIT! The Orange continue to struggle.
North Carolina State at North Carolina(-6.5): MISS! This is the one that I did not see coming.
Louisiana-Lafayette(-10.5) at Troy: MISS! So much for that…..
Utah(-9.5) at Colorado: MISS! The Ralphies picked a fine time to play their best game of the season….
Idaho at Appalachian State(-17.5): MISS! Another half didn’t go my way.
Texas State(-14.5) at Georgia State: MISS! Check that….the Panthers have been covered TWICE all year…..
New Mexico State at Arkansas State(-23.5): HIT! I’m glad I bucked the trend here.
Wyoming at New Mexico(-4.5): HIT! The quarter gets its mojo back.
San Jose State at San Diego State(-14.5): HIT! Why didn’t I take this as my lock?
Notre Dame at USC(-6.5): HIT! I didn’t really expect a close game, but I didn’t expect a beatdown like that either.
Mississippi State(-2.5) at Mississippi: MISS! The Rebels can still be happy with their season since they beat Alabama, and knocked their arch rivals out of the inaugural playoffs.
Florida at Florida State(-7.5): HIT! The Seminoles by no means outplayed the Gators. This was ugly all the way around.
Michigan State(-13.5) at Penn State: HIT! Penn State’s offense might be the worst in the Big Ten(14).
Minnesota at Wisconsin(-14.5): HIT! You have to credit the Badgers for the changes they made in the second half. It looked like the Gophers were going to run off with this for a while.
Rutgers at Maryland(-7.5): MISS! Where did that come from?
Baylor(-26.5) vs. Texas Tech at Jerry World: MISS! I knew better here too.
UAB(-3.5) at Southern Mississippi: HIT! At least you can say UAB went out with a bang. I am sad to see any school lose a football program though.
Kansas at Kansas State(-27.5): MISS! So much for playing your rivals tough….
Connecticut at Memphis(-21.5): HIT! The Tigers keep rolling…..right into a bowl game.
Tennessee(-16.5) at Vanderbilt: MISS! This seemed like an easy pick too….
BYU at California(-3.5): MISS! Yes, Cal is THAT bad.
Louisiana-Monroe at Georgia Southern(-15.5): MISS! A rough start to the night for me.
Hawaii at Fresno State(-11.5): MISS! Awful…….just….awful.
Wake Forest at Duke(-18.5): HIT! Back on track!
Pittsburgh at Miami(FL)(-9.5): MISS! I hate picking games involving schizophrenic teams.
Middle Tennessee State at UTEP(-3.5): MISS! Another missed half! GRRRR
Auburn at Alabama(-9.5): HIT! I had to sweat this one out with Bama fans.
Oregon(-19.5) at Oregon State: MISS! And here I thought the Beavers were good at home….
Utah State at Boise State(-9.5): HIT! The only thing standing between Boise and a New Years Six bowl is, well, Boise.
Nevada(-9.5) at UNLV: HIT! The Rebels played well for a half, but got run over – literally- in the second half.
Washington(-3.5) at Washington State: HIT! The Cougars didn’t stand a chance against this defense.
That put me at 33-28 for the week, which is a solid week. When you put it with the rest of my season it still doesn’t look good. I needed to go much better than five games over. My season total is still a disappointing 332-373. Even though I did have a good November.
