Detractors of Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston took to Twitter to mock Winston after he not named a 2014 Heisman trophy finalist on Monday.

The 2014 Heisman trophy finalists were announced on Monday. Excluded from the list of finalists: Florida State quarterback and 2013 Heisman winner Jameis Winston.

Despite leading his team to a 12-0 record in the regular season and a College Football Playoff Berth, Winston will not have an opportunity to repeat his 2013 title.

Winston has amassed a number of college football fans that dislike him in the past year and it should come to no surprise that those people mocked the quarterback on Twitter after the announcement.

"Jameis has more interceptions this year than Tebow did in his career lol don’t compare a Goat to a sheep"

The fact of the matter is that Winston was not expected to be named a finalist. After throwing for 40 touchdowns and 10 interceptions last season, he threw for 24 scores and 17 picks.

Still, Winston has a chance to get the last laugh here, as he’s just two wins away from a second straight national title.
