Bobby Ryan scores the most gorgeous goal of the entire NHL season
So, Bobby Ryan. Clearly the fresh Ottawa air has been doing you tremendous good.

I always kind of forget that Bobby Ryan exists — mostly because that’s what happens when you take a good American boy and stick him on one of the more quietly sinking teams in the NHL — but he very much made sure that we all remembered who he is last night by making Jonathan Quick look like a goaltender who maybe, one day, will get his chance to move up to the major juniors.
There have been quite a few highlight reel goals so far this season; we’ve seen about ten of them from Vladimir Tarasenko alone, with a couple nods going to guys like Seth Griffith for his between-the-legs, Tyler Ennis for his flying-backhand-not-even-looking beauty, and even Tobias Rieder for scoring two shorthanded goals in less than a minute against his former team.
This might have them all beat.
Not only is this pretty, it’s just sheer TALENT — it’s pretty rare that you can be properly defended by the entire Los Angeles Kings roster and still manage to dance around all of them to just deke out and destroy one of the best netminders in the NHL.
He’s only got six goals this season, but Bobby Ryan… be extremely proud of this. Oh, and… ah…. try repeating it often.

Also: shoutout to Smith for just kinda… moving out of the way and letting this happen.
