Oregon State lost head coach Mike Riley to the Nebraska job last week but the surprising decision by Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen to leave the Badgers after only two seasons has the Beavers in good shape for the foreseeable future after he was introduced as the team’s new head coach at a Friday afternoon press conference.
I was caught by surprise when Andersen left Wisconsin after two successful seasons, including an appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game this year, but upon further review the decision to head to a town like Corvalis, Oregon shouldn’t as he said he felt that was a place that always seemed like an ideal fit.

Andersen doesn’t sound like he’ll be leaving Oregon State after two years and looks forward to establishing some roots in the Pacific Northwest for an extended run as the head coach of the Beavers.
