The Arizona Cardinals are on their third quarterback of the season after losing Drew Stanton to a sprained knee in Thursday’s win against the St. Louis Rams and former NFL quarterback and 300-plus pounder Jared Lorenzen wants his chance to get back under center.

Drew Stanton won’t require surgery on the knee he injured in Thursday night’s win over NFC west rival St. Louis but his availability remains week-to-week as the Cardinals look to clinch a playoff spot and you’ll never believe who wants a shot to run Bruce Arians’ offense.
No, not Tim Tebow, although I’m sure someone has already pitched that idea, but this one is just as far-fetched, albeit with a touch of sense of humor involved.
Former Kentucky star and New York Giants backup quarterback Jared Lorenzen tweeted out a few messages last night after Stanton went down saying he’s ready to comeback, after he sheds a few pounds that is.
Hey @AZCardinals I can be ready to leave in the morning. Fair warning it may take a week or 2 to get back to playing weight. #justplaying

Good night twitter. Enough fun for one night. In all seriousness I hope @drewstanton is ok and comes back. That's a good team.

Yes, Lorenzen is just joking around and having some fun with his followers, but could you imagine the “hefty lefty” under center for the Cards?
Hey, if Arians can resurrect Carson Palmer’s career and make Drew Stanton look good, he could at least make Lorenzen look decent, right?
