Count the Baltimore Orioles as yet another team who would give Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera two to three years, but definitely not four.
The Seattle Mariners have been linked to Melky Cabrera for a few days now, and considering their void in right field, it makes sense. However, they don’t appear enthusiastic at giving Cabrera more than three years. If the Mariners are out on Melky, then the Orioles appear willing to give him a two to three year deal, but no way would they go four, according to Orioles beat writer Eduardo Encina.
If Mariners aren't going 4 yrs on Melky Cabrera, the #Orioles would consider him on a 2-3 year deal, according to source. Ain't going 4 tho.

One thing going for Melky in this case is that the options for outfielders on the market are pretty slim. It’s still possible a team considers giving him a four year deal. According to a story by Hard Ball Talk, Mariners beat writer Bob Dutton says that sources believe Melky will eventually sign with the Mariners. Presumably for the three years and around $42 million that they reportedly offered.
As for the Orioles, they still need outfielders and as noted by Encina, Melky put up better numbers than former Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis last year.
Cabrera: (.301/.351/.458, 16 HR, 73 RBIs)
Markakis: (.276/.342/.386, 14 HR, 50 RBI)
Alternatives out there in the outfield department include free agent, formerly of the Texas Rangers, Alex Rios, Justin Upton of the Atlanta Braves, Seth Smith of the San Diego Padres and Dayan Viciedo of the Chicago White Sox.
So far the Orioles have been very quiet in the offseason, taking calls on players such as pitcher Wei-Yin Chen and losing outfielders in Nelson Cruz and Nick Markakis, but they haven’t acquired anyone notable.
