New York Jets wide receiver Percy Harvin says he’s ready to go against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, despite having not practiced most of the week and limited on Friday.

Just when Jets fans were probably thinking all the “Percy Harvin’s fragile” rhetoric was coming true and he’d be out Sunday with a sprained ankle after tearing it up against the Minnesota Vikings last week, Harvin says he’s playing. In fact, Harvin has been saying all week that he would be playing, despite coach Rex Ryan’s doubts.
"“I would think it would probably be a stretch for this week, but we’ll see,” Ryan said. “The swelling has actually gone down quite a bit in the ankle.” (via NJ.com)"
That was Ryan on Wednesday. This is Ryan on Friday:
"“Unbelievable how fast he’s healing from it. Will he be able to go or not? I’m still not sure. But I’ve been impressed with him.” (via NJ.com)"
Harvin’s opinion is just slightly more adamant.
"“I went through all the walk-throughs,” Harvin said of his Friday practice. “Had a little bit of team plays each period. Felt pretty good. I should be ready to roll. I practiced. I felt fine. I expect to be on the field. I did today pretty much all my cuts that I think I would have to do during the game, as far as coming out of my breaks. I felt pretty good. I told all the coaches it felt good. They said I looked good. I fully expect to play without any limitations.” (via NJ.com)"
Ryan said that Harvin is still officially a game time decision and he intends to consult the trainers about Harvin’s condition for an unbiased opinion. For now though, it looks like Harvin isn’t as fragile as is often reported. Ryan had also said on Thursday that Harvin hasn’t been the problem he’s been rumored to be at all and he added to it on Friday, saying teammates notice how he’s ready to play on Sunday despite the fact that the Jets season is already as good as over.
