NFL: Projecting The Final Playoff Field
By Evan Massey
Cincinnati Bengals, AFC 6th Seed
The Cincinnati Bengals are a very talented team, but they have gone through some injury issues this season. A.J. Green missed a big chunk of the early season, and that was the biggest issue as to why they had some rough games. Andy Dalton has been extremely inconsistent as well, but has seemingly gotten his act together now that we are closing in on the playoffs.
Assuming the Bengals win the game against the Denver Broncos at home and lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers like we have projected, then will finish with a 10-5-1 record. That would be just enough to squeak them into the playoffs as the sixth seed.
It will be very intriguing to see whether or not the Bengals are able to make a run once they get into the playoffs. They have the defense to slow down opposing offenses, and their offense is beginning to pick up with Dalton and rookie running back Jeremy Hill. Cincinnati has the talent, but they have to put everything together and pull out wins late in games against quality opponents.
