A Chicago TV news station went too far in its headlines that urged the Chicago Bears to cut quarterback Jay Cutler.

Given the disastrous season which is about to wrap up for Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears, you might expect to see some crude, insensitive jokes on Twitter and other social media sites calling for the dismissal of everyone from Cutler to the coaching staff and management team. What you might not expect is where those crude jokes are coming from and who is actually posting them.

A fan noticed a strange headline that upon further examination reveals that some news writer needs to seriously re-evaluate themselves.

We’re not sure what’s worse: the headline itself or the guy reading it who doesn’t seem to notice that he’s passing along a tasteless joke about suicide when discussing guys paid to play a game. Either way, it’s safe to guess someone is losing his or her job at ABC 7 some time very soon.

Cutler has been an easy target for Bears fans frustrated by the team’s 2014 season that’s seen them allow 30 points or more seven times this season. That’s hardly Cutler’s fault, but leading the league in interceptions doesn’t help anything.

Still, there’s no reason for anyone to go that far in their dislike of Jay Cutler. Good or bad, he’s just a guy doing his job, and to wish for him to cut his wrists is classless, especially from a news network which people rely on for objective news delivery.
