NFL Playoff Standings Entering Week 16
By Josh Sanchez
UPDATE: Sunday, Dec. 21 (4:40 p.m. ET)
In an unfamiliar occurrence for NFL fans, there will be a double-header on Saturday.
More from Arizona Cardinals
- NFL Power Rankings: Who is the best quarterback in each division?
- Steelers almost had a full-blown family reunion in Pittsburgh
- NFL Power Rankings: Which teams will have the best rushing attacks this season?
- NFL Rumors: Is a Kyler Murray trade on the horizon for the Cardinals?
- NFL rumors: The latest on DeAndre Hopkins’ free agency entering the weekend
Both of the games — Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers at San Francisco 49ers — will have playoff implications.
Entering Saturday’s matchups, the Eagles and Chargers are both on the outside of the NFL playoff standings looking in, but their postseason hopes remain alive. A loss for either team would likely spell the end of those postseason hopes.
The Eagles are the only NFC team outside of the top six that is alive for a spot in the postseason, so a loss to Washington would be especially devastating for their playoff chances.
In the AFC, there are nine teams fighting for the final three spots, so things will get interesting throughout the final two weeks of the regular season.
Where does your favorite team sit in the current NFL playoff standings entering Saturday’s games?
