NFL: 5 Must-See Matchups In Week 16
By Ryan Ratty
Colts vs. Cowboys
Things are all good in Dallas. After beating the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night on the road, the Cowboys are sitting pretty in the NFC East driver’s seat. Although Dallas has to be happy, the storyline in this game will be DeMarco Murray’s injury. I’m sure you’ve heard that one before. Murray has been unbelievable in 2014. He has had problems staying healthy over the course of his career, but Murray has carried the football 351 times for just under 1,700 yards and 11 touchdowns. Murray has a finger injury, that even though it’s minor, it will be harder for him to grip the ball and protect Tony Romo as an upback.
For the visiting team, the Colts will be happy to know that the Cowboys are 3-4 at home. Andrew Luck’s bunch has already clinched their division, but they are still fighting for a first-round bye in the AFC. Indianapolis would rather play a playoff game against the Patriots or the Broncos at home, and that’s why this game is important for them.
The Eagles lost to the Redskins yesterday. Knowing that, if the Cowboys win this game, they will be going to the post-season for the first time since 2009. To beat the Colts, the Cowboys will have to get after Luck, as that has been the key all year long to beating the Colts. T.Y. Hilton will likely suit up in this game, despite being questionable, and that will cause some problems for Dallas’ secondary. Brandon Carr needs to improve for the Cowboys if they want their pass defense to be better. Both teams could use a win in Week 16.
