Jim Rome’s daily show on CBS Sports Network, Rome, will end its run in March, but the bombastic host will remain with the network’s radio lineup and other projects.

Call it the fall of Rome.

According to Sports Business Daily, CBS Sports Network will end Jim Rome’s daily TV show, titled simply Rome, in March after a two-year run.

Rome will remain with CBS Sports on its radio network and his how, Jim Rome on Showtime, will continue.

"“Together with Jim, we decided to shift focus and produce new projects across CBS Sports Network in place of the daily TV show Rome,” CBS Sports president David Berson said. “Jim remains a valuable member of the CBS Sports family, continuing his daily show on CBS Sports Radio, his program on Showtime and his contributions to CBS Sports properties including The NFL Today and NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.”"

Rome, 50, left a seven-year run at ESPN in 2012 to join the fledgling CBS Sports Network.

He’s been a controversial figure at times during his career, most notably when he was shoved to the floor by New Orleans Saints quarterback Jim Everett during an episode of Rome’s show Talk2 on ESPN2 in 1994.

Rome suggested in 1997, when hockey great Gordie Howe announced he was coming back to play a shift with the Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League in order to play in a sixth decade, that he would pay an opponent of the Vipers a bounty to take out Howe. Rome later said it was a joke.

Most recently, he had a heated exchange with former NBA commissioner David Stern in 2012 after asking Stern if the draft lottery had been fixed to give the recently sold New Orleans Hornets the No. 1 overall pick.
