Twitter, the social media king for parody accounts and gullible people. Fact-checking doesn’t fall in the repertoire of most users and those wanting their respective basketball teams to pick up the newest player on the market decided to tweet at the player themselves, or so they thought.

It seems fans tweeting towards @joshsmith thought they were reaching out to the basketball player; when in reality they were tweeting a military vet in San Diego.

The Smith who doesn’t play basketball was quick witted in his responses to the overzealous fans who sent him tweets desiring him to come play basketball for them.

Smith showed tremendous humor in his tweets considering the vast amount he probably received which undoubtedly kept his phone buzzing off the hook.

Smith a good sport handled the mistaken identity the right way. With the actual Josh Smith available for teams to sign, many contenders will be interested in his services. Let’s hope for the sake of whoever signs him, whether it be Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, or someone else that they get the right guy and not the one from twitter.
