Quincy Acy and John Wall are paying steep penalties for their involvement in the jolly Christmas folly that saw the Wizards and Knicks fight each other.

More from NBA

The Washington Wizards and New York Knicks were not in a festive mood on Thursday morning when they decided that fighting on Christmas was a something they wanted to do. The NBA has responded expectedly, suspending Quincy Acy one game for his role in the fight as well as fining John Wall for basically asking for it.

According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, Acy has been suspended without pay for one game following his antics on Christmas Day.

Similarly, John Wall was punished by the NBA as well, but he was merely fined $15,000 and not served a suspension. The reason for Acy’s suspension was violence while Wall’s fine was for escalating the situation and asking for more trouble.

The scuffle was a ruckus way to start out a Christmas Day full of basketball but it clearly came with some costs. Losing Acy hardly hurts the Knicks as they’re going nowhere this season, while Wall’s fine only lightens the weight of his wallet and doesn’t directly effect the Wizards playoff hopes this season or their quest to dominate the Eastern Conference.
