Oakland has been one of the biggest train wrecks in the NFL, and they haven’t been a playoff contender for quite a few years. That is exactly what could make them an attractive option for Jim Harbaugh, as he could rebuild them and add to his coaching legacy by turning things around.

There have been rumors connecting the Raiders and Harbaugh all season long, and he would be exactly the type of coaching hire that they need. Head coaches have come and gone nearly every season in Oakland, and hiring Harbaugh to a long-term deal would finally give them the stability that they have been needing.

Harbaugh would have plenty of things to work with, especially Derek Carr at the quarterback position. He has shown the ability to be a franchise quarterback at different times throughout the season, and simply needs a good coach to come in and help him reach that potential. The Raiders have a solid defense, but they could still use some improvements against the ground attack.

It would be very intriguing to see Harbaugh try to turn the Raiders’ franchise around. He is the type of guy that would embrace the challenge, but Oakland would have to go out and spend big money to turn things around.
