Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles were not able to get into the playoffs this season despite a strong start, and the disappointment surrounding the end to the season is heavy. Despite all of the disappointment, they can’t afford to waste time moving forward to the offseason.
Both LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin were key players this past season with the Eagles, and Kelly has made it very clear that he wants both players back next season.
McCoy is a very expensive running back and he wasn’t able to come through and make the type of impact that the Eagles needed from him. He’ll more than likely need to restructure his deal, but he won’t be going anywhere. He finished the season carrying the football 312 times for 1,319 yards and just five touchdowns in 16 games.
Chip has said he wants Maclin and McCoy back. Just added Brandon Graham to list of players he called a priority to have back.

Maclin on the other hand was an absolute star at the wide receiver position, but was signed to a one-year deal last offseason to prove that he could still play at a high level after tearing his ACL. He finished the season with 85 receptions for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Needless to say, the Eagles should be bringing both of those guys back next season. Maclin is going to be an interesting free agent to keep an eye on, and will get plenty of contract from other teams if he decides to listen to them.
Philadelphia has plenty of holes to fill this coming offseason, but they can’t allow two of their biggest offensive playmakers to walk away. McCoy will likely be back either way, but the Eagles are in real danger of losing Maclin to free agency. It will be interseting to see what the Eagles’ roster looks like next season.
