You know that moment in basketball. It could be on the streets in a sudden pick-up game or in the most organized fashion on the NBA court. It’s the moment when every on-looker, fan and bench player for the celebrating team goes absolutely bananas because that one sick moment just occurred in the game.
Charlotte Hornets reserve guard Gary Neal was the man to provide that very moment tonight during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
With just over a minute remaining in the third quarter of a tightly contested, defensive battle, Neal went weak side off a Cody Zeller pick performing a pretty sick crossover. The result sent on-ball defender Jared Dudley flying to the ground as if somebody perfectly placed Curious George’s latest banana peel elbow extended.
Ok, so maybe it more of a clumsy play on the part of Dudley than a beastly display of ball-handling by Neal, and Zeller should actually be credited as the cause because his early slip created air for Dudley. Still though, it provided pretty good tape for the night.
It seems like Dudley and the Bucks will get the last laugh though as they’re currently leading by double digits in overtime. Dudley currently has 15 points and nine rebounds in the game.
