Winners: Bill O’Brien

While I still contend that O’Brien and the Houston Texans were unwise to not deal with the quarterback position – after all this, was it really worth skipping Blake Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater for Jadeveon Clowney or Xavier Su’a-Filo instead of Derek Carr? – he has done a tremendous job despite that.

In one year he has changed the culture in Houston, found ways to win with mediocre-at-best quarterbacks and a banged up running back (Arian Foster).

Year Two should be one which Texans fans cannot help but be excited for. The defense is excellent, the offense has all the pieces save one (admittedly a big one) and the team has embraced their new coach.

We weren’t sure what to expect from O’Brien, but he has been impressive in his first season as an NFL coach.
