Life without Rajon Rondo is just as painful as we pictured it would be. The Celts are 1-4 since trading their All-Star point guard to Dallas, with the lone victory coming against the tanking Timberwolves. Then again, trading Rondo was serving the greater purpose of tanking, so in that light, I suppose this week was a success?

The only worrisome thing about this tanking is that you generally want to see the younger players grow in more minutes. That hasn’t happened yet for Marcus Smart, who is averaging 4.4 points and 3.6 assists per game since moving into the starting lineup to take Rondo’s spot. Kelly Olynyk has been a bright spot, but the point of this season is now getting the best draft pick possible.
. (10-18). Previous: . Boston Celtics. 25. team. 18
