Power Ranking the 12 Quarterbacks in the NFL Playoffs
By Ryan Ratty
8. Matthew Stafford
Similar to Dalton, Matthew Stafford is another quarterback who has really yet to win the big game. Although Stafford is still a young quarterback, he will never be considered on the elite level until he can win the big one. All season long, Stafford and the Detroit Lions have really won football games because of their defense. However, Stafford has thrown for yet again another 4,000-yard season. Stafford is also completing passes at a higher clip at 60% and outside of the 2010 year where he had season-ending surgery on his throwing shoulder, he is throwing less interceptions in 2014 than any other season in his career.
Stafford will travel on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys and although the Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in their league, their secondary is still extremely vulnerable. Stafford will have the opportunity to go on the road at Jerry’s World, which is a place the Cowboys have struggled at in 2014, and come out with a victory. For the Lions to win this game, Stafford will need to play a clean football game.
