Despite the amazing return announcement of Daniel Bryan, it still seems as if the Royal Rumble may still belong to Roman Reigns.

There are a few weeks until the Royal Rumble at the end of January, and of course, all of the focus is on who will be the winner of the historical match that will go on to headline WrestleMania 31 in March. Throughout the course of the past year, the easy answer to this question has been Roman Reigns.

However, many have been of the belief since this past Monday that the position might not belong to him anymore. After Daniel Bryan went out and announced that not only would he not be retiring, he will make his return from neck surgery at the Royal Rumble event, competing in the 30-man match. After the reaction that he received from the live crowd, folks now believe that Bryan might be on another road to WrestleMania.

But, according to a report from the Wrestling Observer, everything is still in place for Reigns to win the Royal Rumble match, and then go on to win the WWE World Heavyweight championship at WrestleMania.

For quite some time Reigns has been penciled in as the winner of the match, but there are also a lot of signs pointing toward the company maybe changing their minds. Since he came back from hernia surgery after being out for a few months, Reigns’ crowd reactions have been lukewarm, at best. The people just are not responding to him the way they’re supposed to view their next big superstar, and this is a legitimate concern.

Right now, though, he still is on the fast track to the main event on the biggest stage of them all. But as we’ve seen before, plans can change in a heartbeat and we still have a few weeks to go.
