WWE Rumors: WrestleMania 31 main event plans undergoing changes

It appears as if WWE is making some significant changes to the plans for the top matches at WrestleMania 31.

With the Royal Rumble just a few weeks away now, we’re getting right into the heart of WrestleMania season. That means that it’s time to start focusing on who will be in some of the top matches at this year’s big event.

However, there could be a problem in this regard. The problem is that it appears WWE doesn’t even have any idea set in stone yet as to which direction they want to go in.

According to a report from WrestleZone, citing the Wrestling Observer, this past week the company apparently put some new plans in place for the main event match, as well as some of the other top matches that are slated to be on the card.

"Backstage talk in WWE is that some of the main events previously planned for WrestleMania 31 have been switched around within the last week. Creative changes have been suggested for some of the top matches on the card, which have yet to be revealed. We noted earlier in the week that if he is able to compete at WrestleMania 31, The Undertakeris penciled in to face Bray Wyatt at the big event."

Now of course, as is always the case, the focus is all on who will be competing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, presumably against Brock Lesnar. For the better part of the year it has been assumed that Roman Reigns is a lock for that spot, however that might not be the case so much anymore.

Since his return following hernia surgery, Reigns has not been getting the crowd reactions that they would have hoped for, and despite reportedly going through acting classes, his work on the microphone has not improved at all.

One possible replacement is Daniel Bryan, who announced this past week on RAW that he would not only be returning to action soon, but he will participate in the Royal Rumble match.

Now as you can see from when he made the announcement, THAT is the type of crowd reaction that the company is looking for out of someone going into a huge WrestleMania match. Plus, the built-in story is that Bryan is going to get the title that he never really lost in the first place.
