Wisconsin head coach Barry Alvarez lead the celebration after their win over Auburn in the Outback Bowl.
No other time than now have we seen celebrations and football so closely knit together. Even after routine plays guys go so over the edge with how they celebrate.
So much so, we’ve seen season-ending injuries plague these dance artists.
Dancing and celebrating isn’t only wasted on the youth though.
After a 34-31 overtime victory over over Auburn today in the Outback Bowl, Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez decided to get the party stared for the night, the right way.
Alvarez, who coached the Badgers from 1990 through 2005, was acting as head coach today due to Gary Andersen’s recent departure. The win marks the 197th win in his Wisconsin coaching career, and improves his record to 9-4 in bowl games.
When asked how he felt about the traditional Gatorade bath he took in after the game, Alvarez said this via the Associated Press:
"”It’s a little uncomfortable afterwards, but I like them. And it’s special for those seniors. It meant a lot to them. They won a lot of games here,” Alvarez added. ”They haven’t won a lot of bowl games. So they put a lot into it, they bought into it, they gave us strong leadership when it was needed, and now they can enjoy it.”"
Wisconsin and Auburn treated us to a thrilling Outback Bowl, and running back Melvin Gordon was a beast again. The Heisman Trophy runner-up went for 251 yards and three touchdowns and 34 monster carries.
The Badgers finished 2014 with a record of 11-3.
