Google trolled Paul Bissonnette with a billboard in Times Square, but Paul trolled them right back.

Former NHL forward Paul Bissonnette is most likely more well known by people for his presence on social media rather than his day job. Bissonnette is more of a role-player and a journeyman in the NHL. He has been up and down between the AHL and the ECHL in his early professional career, before finally cracking the lineup for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2008-09.

The following year he signed with the Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes and stayed with the team through 2014. The Coyotes decided not to re-sign the 29-year-old this past off-season, and he was unable to find another job in the NHL. Bissonnette had AHL tryouts with the Portland Pirates and the Manchester Manarchs, but neither one panned out.

As of right now, he is a free agent hoping that a team will have use for him down the stretch of the season.

What he lacks in hockey skill, he makes up for in his witty personality and social media skills. He constantly pokes fun of himself for being a plug (a plug is a hockey term meaning a hockey player that is just there to basically fill a roster spot, just a plug in) on social media. He even started his own clothing line called Sauce Hockey, where his cloths say things like ‘plug life’ and ‘4th line for life’. He also has no shame in picking fun at other people as well and is absolutely hilarious.

Google decided to have some fun at Mr. Bissonnette’s expense.

During their ‘year in review’ campaign, they put up a billboard regarding Paul’s epic ice bucket challenge he did that went viral. The only problem, they misspelled his name. So, Paul being Paul, he decided to have some fun with them.

"When Google spells your name wrong and chirps you in Time Square…."

To be honest, I’m pretty sure he’s honored to have Google chirp him in the middle of Times Square. Of course, he’s not going to let them slide that they misspelled his last name. Google then tweeted back at Bissonnette with a light-hearted apology.

The more hilarious part, is that Google misspelled their own company name in their reply. Google, you’re already failing at your New Year’s resolution. Get your crap together.
