Unfortunately, his tenure with the Cardinals could be coming to n end.
According to a report from Pro Football Talk, Fitzgerald does not expect to return to Arizona next season.
It would be strange to see Fitzgrald with any other team than the Cardinals. However, he has become frustrated with his role in the Cardinals’ offense, according to the report, and would like a change of scenery where he could be a more important figure in another offense.
Assuming Fitzgerald is either released or put on the trade block, there would likely be plenty of teams interested. Fitzgerald has caught 63 passes for 784 yards and two touchdowns this season, with a revolving door at the quarterback position.
Arizona has some decisions to make this offseason and Fitzgerald’s future will be one of the most important decisions they face. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him back in the desert for a 12th season, but he could just as easily end up with a new home.
