DeAngelo Williams has been passed on the depth chart by Jonathan Stewart for the Carolina Panthers but the veteran running back prepared for the Wild Card game against the Arizona Cardinals in a special way.

More from Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are trying to do what they couldn’t do last year when they won the NFC South and that’s win their first playoff game. Carolina has surged in the final month of the season in large part because of their defense and a punishing ground game.

Unfortunately for DeAngelo Wiliams, injuries and subpar performance has seen him only rush 62 times for 219 yards and zero touchdowns as Jonathan Stewart has asserted himself as the featured runner in Carolina.

But Williams is healthy for the playoff game against the Cardinals after being out since the Nov. 16 game and got ready for the game by stretching with his young daughter Rhyla prior to kickoff.

Pretty cool moment between father and daughter prior to the game today.

Unfortunately for Williams, he has yet to get in the game that the home team trails the Cardinals by a point at halftime, 14-13. The Cardinals got all 14 points off two turnovers from the Panthers.

If the Panthers don’t play cleaner football and minimize their mistakes there may not be another opportunity for another adorable father-daughter moment prior to a potential second round matchup.

Williams has spend his entire career with the Panthers after they drafted him in the first round of the 2006 draft out of Memphis. He has 6,846 yards and 46 career touchdowns through nine seasons in Carolina.
